From 6 to 8 October 2026, Nairobi hosted the Magical Kenya Travel Expo, better known as MKTE, and the Day Safaris Adventures team was on the floor at stand A40, meeting tour buyers, travel agents and tourism partners from across the industry.
What is the Magical Kenya Travel Expo?
MKTE is Kenya's flagship tourism trade show, organised by the Kenya Tourism Board. Unlike a public holiday fair, it is built for business: hotels, tour operators, safari companies, airlines and destination businesses meet international travel buyers and agents to agree partnerships for the year ahead. Organisers expected more than 350 exhibitors and around 5,000 tourism professionals, and the programme included trade meetings, panel sessions, speed networking and familiarisation trips, all under the welcoming theme "Welcome Home".
Our team at stand A40
We arrived in our safari uniforms, ready for three busy days. Our stand carried the Day Safaris Adventures branding, our Beauty of the Wild brochure and a prize wheel that drew visitors in for a spin and a chat. Behind the fun, the conversations were serious: how we plan tailor-made itineraries, how we handle ground services, and what a reliable local partner in Kenya looks like.
Throughout the expo our consultants sat down with visitors from different countries, listened to what their clients are looking for and talked through options across East Africa. We explained how we work as a destination management company based in Nairobi, covering:
- Safaris in the Masai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo, Lake Nakuru and beyond.
- Mountain trekking on Mount Kenya, Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.
- Beach and coast holidays in Mombasa, Diani and Watamu.
- Hotels, lodges and tented camps chosen for comfort and location.
- Airport transfers, visas and flights, plus tailor-made group trips.
Why events like MKTE matter
For a Kenyan tour company, a trade expo is where trust is built.
