A day-by-day breakdown of your adventure.
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). Meet your safari guide and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi. Evening briefing about your 8-day migration safari across Kenya and Tanzania. Overnight at a luxury hotel with pool and spa facilities.
Depart Nairobi at 7:00 AM. Drive through the Great Rift Valley with a photo stop at the viewpoint (2,200m altitude). Continue through the Loita Plains arriving at Masai Mara by 1:00 PM. Check-in at your luxury tented camp. Afternoon game drive from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM to spot lions, elephants, and giraffes in the golden savannah light.
Early breakfast at 6:00 AM. Depart with packed lunch for a full day exploring the Mara River region. Witness the Great Migration (July-October) where thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the crocodile-infested Mara River. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the riverbank. Continue game drive until 5:00 PM searching for the Big Five.
4:00 AM optional hot air balloon safari with champagne breakfast in the bush. 9:00 AM morning game drive. Afternoon visit to a traditional Maasai village to learn about their culture, jumping dance, and traditional medicine. Evening sunset game drive.
6:00 AM early morning game drive. Return for breakfast and checkout. Drive to the Kenya-Tanzania border at Isebania. Complete immigration formalities. Meet your Tanzanian guide and continue to the Serengeti National Park. Afternoon game drive in the Seronera Valley known for its lion and leopard populations.
Full day exploring the central Serengeti. Search for leopards in the acacia trees along the Seronera River. See hippos and crocodiles at the hippo pool. Visit the Retina Hippo Pool for lunch. Afternoon game drive following predator tracks. Spot cheetahs on the open plains.
Morning game drive in Serengeti. Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the Olduvai Gorge, the "Cradle of Mankind" museum (entry included). Learn about early human fossils. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater rim for overnight with stunning views of the world's largest caldera.
5:30 AM early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater floor (600m descent). Game drive in the crater searching for the Big Five - lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards. Picnic lunch at the hippo pool near the lake. Ascend the crater and drive to Arusha. Drop-off at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) for departure or Arusha hotel.
