Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club sits on roughly 100 to 120 acres of gardens and forest near Nanyuki, with Mount Kenya rising behind it. The actor William Holden bought the property in the early 1960s and ran it as the Mount Kenya Game Ranch, and over the years it has hosted guests such as Winston Churchill and Bing Crosby. Fairmont now manages it.
