About this hotel

Little Governors' Camp is a small, quiet tented camp of 17 tents set around a waterhole on the west bank of the Mara River in the Masai Mara. Guests are ferried across the river, about 20 metres wide, in a small boat, while safari vehicles stay on the far bank, which keeps the camp calm and isolated. The crossing involves steps on each bank, so it may not suit guests with limited mobility.

The en-suite tents have hot and cold running water, polished wooden decks and large verandas looking over the waterhole. Meals are served in the open air and in a candlelit dining tent. The camp is unfenced, so elephants and warthogs sometimes wander through, and game drives run at sunrise, late morning and in the afternoon. The operator reports solar power and a Gold Eco-Rating from Eco-Tourism Kenya.
