Satao Camp

Satao Camp is a tented camp in Tsavo East National Park, built around a central waterhole where large herds of elephants come to drink, along with giraffe, impala and hippo. The canvas tents have thatched roofs, private verandas and en-suite bathrooms, and are set in a semi-circle facing the waterhole. Sources give 20 tents, split in different ways between family tents and suites.

There is a lounge, a bar, a viewing deck by the waterhole and an observation tower, with lunch under a tamarind tree and dinner in the main dining area. Wi-Fi is available in the lounge, and game drives run early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Some tents and vehicles are adapted for guests with disabilities. It is about three hours' drive from Mombasa.
